Subaru uses his improved perfect trace "flash" method (where he essentially seems to read his opponent's mind) on Somei in their bluefin tuna match-up, with both of them making a gorgeous-looking 10-piece set of mini tuna ruby sushi. Kuga has wanted a rematch against Eishi, who once battled him and didn't even remember his name the next day. Speaking of characters that look alike, now that Soma is getting older-looking (taller, longer face) and his hair is longer, there were a times when it wasn't clear if he was speaking or if Ryo was speaking. Having them all competing at the same time was occasionally disorienting, but did make me learn to differentiate them better. This made them difficult to tell apart at times, such as when a close-up of their faces was shown, or if the character was making an expression that stretched his face into something different. In the 2nd bout, Kuga (former 8th seat and Sichuan specialist), Subaru, and Tosuke (former 3rd seat and ramen master) are defending the rebels' side against Eishi (first seat), Rindo (crazy second seat), and Somei (former 5th seat, now 4th seat, sushi master).Īs far as their character design goes, Subaru, Tosuke, and Somei are all big, hulking, scary-looking guys with variations of wild hairstyles. *note to self, switch review to English version when it exists*
